WPT is heading to Malta

One of the things about a world poker tour is that it should be a genuine world tour and this means that people should be seeing as many sights and countries as possible. Some poker players will say that they are there on business and that the inside of a hotel looks pretty much the same no matter where you are in the world. It is probably fair to say that the professionals do not always get the full benefit of a glamorous lifestyle that many people think is the case with being on the world poker circuit.

See the world with poker

However, even though there are some locations and venues that have to be included on the World Poker Tour, there is always room for fresh stop-offs and new places to visit. This can help keep the interest levels high and it ensures that the people behind these events get to see new places, even if it is somewhat lost on the main players. The tenth season of the World Poker Tour is promising to bring in some new experiences for the players and this is why the Malta leg is bound to be an exciting stop-off.

Lifestyle of the rich and famous

Given the fact that Portomaso in Malta is usually the home for super yachts, it is obvious that this is a home for the rich and famous, making it ideal for poker players. The stakes may be high at the WPT event but the money is likely to be dwarfed by some of the deals that have been agreed upon the yachts and in the hip hotels and restaurants of the local area. This takes nothing away from the excitement of the WPT stop-off though and the four days in September are likely to be hugely entertaining for all concerned.

The Main Event for the Malta leg will be capped at 300 players and will run between the 20th and the 24th of September. This is definitely a date to be placed into the diary and the 3,300 euro Main Event is likely to be a big draw. If you get into the event, knowing that you only have 299 rivals to get past will hopefully provide a great incentive for poker players looking for a big win and that all important bracelet. There are still big odds against any player winning but there is definitely a great chance of triumphing in Malta.
